So You Wish To Become An Internet Business Owner?

When I first became excited by the prospect of starting an online business I had no idea of the difficulties and challenges I was about to face – all I visualised was all the money I was about to make, and I remember setting about my initial activities with all the gusto of the ignorant who blissfully enter into the forest without the first inkling of the dangers within. After all, I had been in IT for many years, and had successfully produced websites for others, promoting offline clients’ businesses online. So I approached Internet Marketing with confidence – how difficult could it be for someone as experienced as I?

The shocking truth was that I had much to learn, even given my existing knowledge, and now, after several years in the game – and it is a game, with constantly changing rules – I have understood what it takes:

Time

There is a saying I have always liked - “If at first you do succeed, try to hide your astonishment”. If you think you will be an overnight sensation, and of course I hope that you do, you may well be disappointed. In most cases, it takes time, as all things do that become sustainable. And it can eat up a lot of cash while you’re investing that time. If you’re lucky, you’ll cover your costs right from the start. If not, be prepared to make some sacrifices in the short term…

Learning

Fact is, you are going to need a whole bunch of new skills that you will have to apply to this strange, virtual world. I had to learn sales copywriting – being a ‘techie’, I had never had to sell very much, and so it was a totally new process to me. It did not happen overnight – I made plenty of mistakes before finally discovering my own ’style’ which suited my personality, and with which I felt comfortable, but which was also effective with prospects. I also had to learn Internet Marketing Strategy, and had to keep up to date with changing trends in the marketplace. At the time of writing, Web 2.0 is all the rage, and Twitter and the social bookmarking sites are where you need to be if you want to promote successfully. Tomorrow, it will change, and you need to know about it. Learning never stops. Ever.

Determination

A healthy measure of stubbornness is very useful to anyone embarking on an Internet marketing career. I had a specific goal in mind when I started – I wanted to work from the comfort of home, my family of dogs around me all the time. I wanted to choose when I worked, how much I worked, and how I worked. I was simply not going to be satisfied until that was the case, and I was willing to do ‘whatever it takes’ to get there. Today, as my dogs wander in and out of my house on my farm while I sit here and type at my desk surrounded by computers, I am living the dream. But I had to go through many dark days, in which there were times when I was not sure I would survive, in order to get here. I failed many times, often not sure why, in other cases learning harsh lessons that would enable me to step up the next time. But I was determined to see it through. My persistence paid off.

The Internet, like any business environment, is tricky and will present you with multiple challenges on a daily basis. But it is rewarding to an extent you will scarcely imagine when you first embark on the journey., both personally and financially. If you have the willingness to invest the time, learn everything you need to in order to succeed, and persist in the face of failure, the chances are you might become a successful Internet Entrepreneur. It really depends on you.

Here to Help,
Derek

Find Important Information For Implementing ISO 9001 2008

Today, I would like to share the secret of implementing successful ISO 9001 by any business center:

A. Document your way of doing business. Wrting proper procedures is key.
B. Keep the documentation simple.
C. Document the flexibility you need in your procedures.
D. Use this opportunity as a stepping stone to get better efficiency in your operations.
E. Choose a Management Representative that is part of the management team and well liked and respected within the organization.
F. Choose a Management representative who has leadership capabilities.
G. Provide ISO 9001: 2008 training to the manager level individuals even if you are going to use an external consultant.
H. Provide Quality Auditor training to the Management Representative and some other key members of the organization.
I. Select a consultant on the basis of how well his style will fit your company culture, as well as his success rate in helping companies achieve certification. An inappropriate consultant can do a lot of damage. Check the references!
J. Make sure you use consultants with practical business experience in your field.
K. Beware of consultants that quote you a fixed cost without conducting a thorough audit of your operation. They are low-balling to get the job. Once they get it and they do get a feel of the amount of work, they will either start cutting corners to save time, which will put you at risk, or find a way to abort the implementation process in midstream after having pocketed a lot of money.
L. Ask for detailed quotes from registrars that cover beyond 3-year period, which include the yearly or half yearly Surveillance Audits. Note that some certification bodies quote you for six years and give certification without renewal date or expiry date.
M. Lock in a registration audit date right away, so that all your organization has a clear target and stays focused. Secondly registrars are too busy now a days and getting a suitable date might be a problem.
N. Choose and treat your certification bodies like a long-term partner.
O. Use a registrar’s Preliminary Assessment as an improvement tool, as well as to maintain momentum for the implementation.
P. If you feel confident that you are ready without having to go through a preliminary assessment, call for a certification audit.

Article Marketing

There are many people who dread having to write papers or articles. Many just feel like it seems to be too much work and it all just goes to waste when no one reads the. To some people, reading articles seems like work to, especially if the article is boring and very bland. Well, articles are supposed to be read, that’s their purpose to impart your message and information. If it is not read then it is a waste of time and effort.

But all the same, articles have to be written to be read. It’s just a matter of making them good. Making a good article doesn’t have to be strenuous and straining. There are just some points needed to be reminded of, and some guides to follow. Once you get the hang of it, writing articles could be fun, as well as profitable for you and your site.

Of course, writing articles must be about something you know about, that’s why if you own a site, you probably is knowledgeable about that certain topic and theme. When you write about it, you won’t have a hard time because you already know what it is and what it’s about. It’s just a matter of making your articles creative and interesting.

To make sure that your articles get read and enjoyed, here are six red hot tips to get your articles read. These tips will make your articles readable and interesting.

1) Use short paragraphs. When the paragraph are very long, the words get jumbled in the mind of the reader just looking at it It can get quite confusing and too much of a hard work to read. The reader will just quickly disregard the paragraph and move on to much easier reading articles that are good to look at as well as read. Paragraphs can be a single sentence, sometimes even a single word!

2) Make use of numbers or bullets. As each point is stressed out, numbers and bullets can quickly make the point easy to remember and digest. As each point, tip, guide or method is started with a bullet or point, readers will know that this is where the tips start and getting stressed. Format you bullets and numbers with indentations so that your4 article won’t look like a single block of square paragraphs. Add a little bit of flair and pizzazz to your articles shape.

3) Use Sub-headings to sub-divide your paragraphs in the page. Doing this will break each point into sections but still would be incorporated into one whole article. It would also be easy for the reader to move on from one point to another; the transition would be smooth and easy. You will never lose your readers attention as well as the point and direction to where the article is pointing.

4) Provide a good attention-grabbing title or header. If your title can entice a person’s curiosity you’re already halfway in getting a person to read your article. Use statements and questions that utilize keywords that people are looking for. Provide titles or headers that describe your articles content but should also be short and concise.

Use titles like, “Tips on making her want you more”, or “How to make her swoon and blush” .You could also use titles that can command people, for example, “Make her yours in six easy Ways”. These types of titles reach out to a persons’ emotions and makes them interested.

5) Keep them interested from the start to the finish. From your opening paragraph, use real life situations that can be adopted by the reader. Use good descriptions and metaphors to drive in your point, just don’t over do it. Driving your examples with graphic metaphors and similes would make it easy for them to imagine what you are talking about. Making the experience pleasurable and enjoyable for them.

6) Utilize figures when necessary and not just ordinary and insipid statements. Using specific facts and figures can heighten your article because it makes it authoritative. But do not make it too formal, it should be light and easy in them and flow. Like a friendly teac her having a little chat with an eager student.

3 Reasons Why Blogging Will Boost Your Business!

Building your business can be a difficult task. You can put hundreds of hours of effort into the business, but if you still don’t have important components, you will not be successful. Today business owners are realizing that blogging boosts business. Blogs are typically only seen as personal places to express yourself and your views. The truth is however the blogs are also great places to reach people about your business or your products. There are several ways to do this type of blogging.

The best way a business can use blogging to boost their business is by taking part in the blogs of others. You can easily create quality posts with your business in mind without needing to set up a blog of your own. Try finding blogs that pertain to the area of business you are in. This will help you get started. With millions of blogs out there, you should be able to find some with no problem. Choose to post on all of them, or choose the few that get the most activity. Then begin posting. When you do, you will see positive results come in. If you are still curious about how this can boost your business, check out these three reasons blogging boosts business.

Quick Name Recognition

The fastest way to get your business’s name out in the public is to make it known to your targeted marketing group. If you want to get your company’s name out to men who like fishing, then you can find a blog that is about just that. When you find the blogs pertaining to this marketing group, post useful and intelligent information about topics that pertain to your company. You might not want to sound like an advertisement. Think about responding to another comment and simply tagging your signature with your company’s website. This is a subtle way to get their attention. The more you post on blogs, the more widely known your company’s name will become with the select marketing group. When they tell their friends and family about the site then your consumer group will have grown even more. This is a fast way to get started. You will have to invest some time however. At least an hour a day can be used for this type of task.

Consumer Testimonies

Your company might even think about hiring professionals to blog for your company. You can offer these employees products to try and give them the task of finding blogs where they can appropriately “praise” the product. By paying these people to do the task, you will be getting the work done that you need without having to devote much time. Consumer testimonials go a long way with other consumers. If these bloggers are productive enough, you will see an increase due to it.

Building Relationships

Smart business owners know that they can go further with the help of others. A great way to connect and build relationships with other businesses is via their blog. If you are a regular poster who values their business, they will be more likely to work with you. Working together with advertising is a great idea. You can swap ad space for no fee if you like. These are great things for business owners and are easy to get into when you blog regularly.

As you can see, blogging can be a great way to do business. It may seem like tricky advertising, and it is in some ways. However, it is free advertising that does the same thing as a commercial on television does. It reaches a targeted marketing group and lets them know your company’s name, products, and sometimes offers an endorsement. Overall, it is an effective way to get your business out there. When people have no idea who you are, they are not going to feel comfortable working with you. The better your reputation is, the more likely they will trust you. When you have no reputation at all, they will not trust you either. So, even if you just want to use blogging to build your company’s reputation, it will be worth your while. Give it a try and see what type of results you can get using these tips.

5 Things To Overcome The Tough Parts Of Blogging…

There are times when a blogger, like any other writer, will ‘loose the muse.’ Every idea that comes to mind seems either trite or dull or, worse still, no ideas come to mind. What’s a blogger to do? Here are five tactics that just might clear away the cobwebs and allow you to find an inspiring idea for another great post:

Start with the news! Open up your favorite news page or open a newspaper and see what catches your attention. What are the politicians up to today? Any pending legislation that worries you or flat out scares you? Or perhaps someone is running for office or proposing a law that you may want to publicly support. Some celebrity is sure to be in trouble again; have anything to say about that? Maybe you have an idea about who should be dating or marrying who. Who died? A nice memorial post for a nice person may be in order. What happened “On This Date” in past years? Some past events are worth researching and writing about. Are you into sports? Many bloggers or blog readers are sports fans and they might be interested in your take on the playoffs or the players. Don’t forget to check the editorial page and the letters to the editor — do you agree with the opinions? Tell the world why or why not.

Read some blogs! Start surfing your favorite blogs. What are they talking about? You might have a different perspective on the latest hot topic that might just be interesting to your fellow bloggers or a perspective that might make them mad (BTW, never worry about making bloggers mad — most of them love having something to gripe about). If you can’t find anything that inspires you in your favorite blog, surf through some of those blogs that always make you mad; the ones that seem to promote everything that goes against your lifestyle. Anger is always a good blog motivator but don’t get so angry you get irrational. Comment on some blog posts and then expand your comments into a post on your blog. Also try logging onto Blog Explosion, Blog Clicker or one of the many other blog traffic generator programs — there are lots of ideas out there that are worth writing about from either a pro or con perspective.

What have you been watching or reading? Have you read any good (or bad) books lately? Write about your latest read — recommend it, blast it or even write an abstract for your blog (but don’t give away ending). How about movies, the great ones or the pitiful losers might be worth some good or bad words — you could make movie or book reviews regular features of your blog. The same goes for television shows. Start a series that follows your favorite TV show, there might be quite a few fans of the same show that will be interested in your take and appreciate your summary of episodes they missed. If there is a book, movie or TV show that you thought was great there is sure to be a reviewer who panned it. Find the bad review and write a post countering the reviewer’s opinions.

What have you been doing? Your work place, your co-workers, you bosses, your home and your family members are all fair game for your blog — keep it short and amusing and you’ll have a great post. Once you introduce a particularly interesting person to your readers you may want to do some sequels. When was your last travel vacation — write a travelog about where you’ve been or do some research on some places you’d love to go to and write about them.

Do you have a special skill? If you can make something that is unique or something that is common but made special because of what you know, there may be people interested in knowing how to do it. Give away tips on cooking, sewing, cleaning, fix-it projects, pet care, child care, beauty secrets, personal care or organizing tips. Make it a regular feature on you blog. If you have a digital camera find an interesting subject, take some pictures and then write something based on the subject. If you found it interesting or comical or sad its likely to interest someone else.

5 Ways To Increase Traffic To Your Blog

Blogs are a very popular ways of promoting your product or service. They are easy to install, easy to administer and easy to update. And search engines love them too. But what is a blog without traffic?Exactly. Here are five quick ways to boost traffic to your blog and start seeing those big sales.

1.Build a list of blog services to ping
There are a lot of blog services you can ping. This means that you notify this service, that you’ve updated your blog. These services then list your new posts and you get the traffic from them. I’ve made a list of 50+ blog services you can ping on my site. These list are also available if you search google or any other search engine for it. That should be enough to give an initial boost to your traffic.

2.Add buttons to popular news readers
What does this mean? Well there are sites like yahoo or google or bloglines etc, which have a members area where you can select sites with RSS feeds to fetch the latest updates from different blogs. That way you can have the latest updates from let’s say 50 blogs listed on one page. I have a list of these popular pages on my website plus the buttons which link to them. Users can then easily add my blog to their news reader members area.

3.Update your content regulary
Search engines and blog services love regular updates. It’s very likely that you will get targeted traffic from search engines if you post regulary. That means you should make a new post to your blog at least once per day. But be careful. Too many updates per day can harm your search engines position and hits. What’s too many? 10 or more.

4.Post in forums
Post in forums, but don’t spam them. Post something fresh and interesting and put a link to your blog in your signature. Don’t just post in any forum. For example if you’re selling cds, post in forums that are about music and cds. Don’t post in car forums if you’re selling furniture. By posting in forums you will get one-way links which are good for search engine position in search engines like google or msn or yahoo.

5.Submit to blog search engines
There are masses of search engines available, that list only blogs. Just google for „blog search engines“ and you should find at least 20 of them. These blog search engines will help you with targeted traffic. Be sure to write a good title and a good description to your blog, so that people will easily find it and click on your link.

Follow these 5 steps and you will start seeing lots of traffic to your blog. And the so long awaited sales will start coming in. And don’t forget to update your blog with fresh unused content that you write yourself.

Why Consider An Office At Home?

For a lot of workers, a home businessis their dream. With commute times getting worse all the time, life’s high speed pace of the workplace, people are getting stressed more and more at their employment. After you consider daycare if you have children, the cost of living going up and the pay checks not changing or even going down in lots of cases, people are searching into staying home more these days. But the problem with that solution is usually the cost of living being too high and most families cannot set aside that second source of revenue.

The solution to this problem is a desk in your home. You get to walk away from the rush hour traffic in the morning and back home at the end of the day, saving you between two to four hours everyday. That commute being saved everyday, you also save the fuel normally used to go to work or the bus fees. You can be home to put your kids on the bus yourself and save the daycare fees. And this still leaves the rest of the day open if your new tasks requires you to see customers.

But a lot of people are not successful in their business, because they lack that commitment that comes with it. When you own a home based business, or have a home based job, you need to be self motivated. The perk of being at home is not having a boss on your back all day telling you what to do. The bad side of being home is not having a boss on your back all day telling you what to do. Too many are taking this business as early retirement they can’t afford. They take this time to sleep in more and more everyday, take on new hobbies they had problems fitting in before, watch new shows on the television they never would have watched before and the list just doesn’t stop.

Until you secure on enough residual income to replace your previous revenues, you need to have the motivation to work at home as if you had that boss pushing you everyday and get it all done until you secure your financial future.

With your home based business, you need to still get up in the morning and get ready for work. It may be in your office in your kitchen, but you need to treat it like work and be ready for anything. Getting up at noon, have brunch, do some laundry, some yard work and then realizing the day has gone and nothing is done will not replace the revenues you are no longer getting from your job. But if you get up close to the same time you used to before, get ready to go to your office in the next room, you are prepared to start working right away after breakfast or as soon as the kids have gone to school for those with children. You saved that commute, so you don’t lose on your work even though you spent more time with your family already in the day.

Remember to take some breaks, as you would if you were still at work in the office. If you don’t do this, the lack of motivation will set in again. You will find that if you commit to your business, your productivity level will be much better than at a job. There are no wasted time at home from other employees, so you concentrate more on the work that needs to be done your task at hand. Therefore, you can take a longer break without sacrificing your business. And at the end of the day, when the kids and/or spouse get home, you don’t feel like you wasted your day on chores. You also don’t feel drained like you normally are when commuting home after a long day of work. So being more relaxed, it is easier to put in an hour of chores at the end of the day and not feel like it is that extra in your day pushing you over the edge.

Personally, I have done more at home these past few months than ever before with a job in the way. But I am still productive in my office as I am growing my business and pushing that comfort level higher to bring my wife home as well. I see my kids at breakfast time, one thing that never happened before, except weekends. Working at home is well worth it and doesn’t demand the high demand of having a job. But to do so, you need to have the conviction of success by being self motivated. You know what you need to do to keep yourself at the level you were with a job. And if you Just keep yourself an hour a day to learn more about your business and how to make it better, you will have an ever growing business that will set you free and permit you to reduce the hours you put in a day in the office, even if it is in the next room to your bedroom.

I, Stephane, have managed to retire from my job because of my home based business and am now spending my time helping others do the same.

Four More Ways To Lower Your Cost On Life Insurance.

My name is Dan Branstetter I am an independent insurance broker, specializing in helping people with their life insurance needs. The biggest need people have is to keep the cost affordable. So let me share four things that will save you money on life insurance. Life insurance can seem like a burden, but imagine the burden you and or your family would have if it was not there when they needed it. I know it’s not a pleasant subject, that is why it is best to deal with it responsibly and move on to more pleasant things to think about , knowing it is taken care of. With that said I would like to write briefly on ways you can save on your life insurance policy.

Number one, buy it when you’re young. Now I know that may be not appropriate for everyone, but to those of you who are still in your twenties and thirties and have a family or dependants or a mortgage, you need life insurance. Lock in the great rates you can get while you are young and healthy. The two biggest factors in deciding insurance rates are age and health. And your health usually does not get better with age. That is why it is very important for those of you in your forties and fifties, who aren’t insured or are under insured, you should not wait to apply for insurance. One major health issue can greatly increase your rates.

Number two, take responsibility for your health. Healthy diet and exercise and limit alcohol consumption. The occasional drink is debatable if it is good or bad for you health, but in excess, alcohol acts just like sugar and turns to fat when it’s not burned. So excessive drinking is not only bad for your health, but also can greatly increase weight gain. Health and weight both big factors in insurance rates.

Number three, don’t use tobacco. Yes I know for some of you that it is easier said than done, but did you know that rates
are almost double for smokers than non smokers in a lot of cases. And if you quit with in 2 to 5 years you may be able to dramatically lower rates, because rates are tiered in accordance to how long you have quit smoking. So if you have quit smoking in the last 2 to 5 years you should review your policy with an insurance agent.

Number four, comparison shop. Now before you go out on the internet and run all the numbers on those quote engines, understand that unless you know what the different insurance companies requirements are, you have no way of comparing apples to apples. That is where you need a good qualified independent insurance agent. A qualified independent insurance agent who knows the different requirements the insurance companies have is the quickest and easiest way to comparison shop, knowing your getting the best best life insurance deal.
